A 5-story building collapsed on Thursday afternoon.

On Thursday afternoon, a building in Washington, D.C., collapsed, leaving many people injured—including one man who ended up stuck beneath the rubble for over an hour before firefighters rescued him.

Authorities are not sure what caused the 5-story building to collapse, but they think it was due to a severe storm passing over the area. A spokesperson for DC Fire and EMS said, "Two structures to the right suffered some damaged secondary to the collapse and a vacant structure to the right suffered major damage."

Two homes next to the building were also evacuated.
