David Lesh is in some deep sh*t now ...
A man known for his disrespectful behavior towards some of Colorado’s most cherished landmarks appears to be at it again, all while on bond for his previous escapades—he's facing charges for violating the rules and hiking out into the beloved Hanging Lake log, and then posting it on social media to promote his business.
David Lesh posted a photo to Instagram on Wednesday, October 21, which appears to show him pooping in Maroon Lake in the White River National Forest, near Aspen. The post includes the caption, “Moved to Colorado 15 years ago, finally made it to Maroon Lake. A scenic dump with no one there was worth the wait.”
*Be warned, the photograph features some slight nudity.
In Colorado, it's advised that people pack out their waste, which includes feces. According to the United States Forest Service website, when visiting the Maroon Bells Snowmass Wilderness White River area, human waste should be taken out in a bag or buried in a hole six to eight inches deep and at least 200 feet from any water, trails, or camps. Defecating in a natural body of water is not recommended, ever. The Maroon Bells Scenic Area website does not mention packing human waste out, however, it's expected the same rules apply. Restrooms are provided at the site, free of charge.
