The immersive art installation is expected to open in 2020.
Meow Wolf, an art collective originally established in Santa Fe, just began construction on its new complex in the heart of Denver. Once finished, the five-story, 90,000 square foot building will have 60,000 square feet of exhibition space, making it three times as big as the Sante Fe experience. It will be located near the Colfax viaduct by Interstate 25.
While construction is underway, the Meow Wolf team has a huge number of submissions from Colorado-based artists to sift through. They're also hosting special events and appearing on panels around Denver. Vice president John Feins said the focus is on building a community around the arts.
"We're especially interested in helping other arts groups, not just financially, but also in spreading the word," he says."Communities need to come together, communities need to rally around their creatives. We can't be the only immersive-art world."

Prior to the grand opening of Meow Wolf Denver, you'll be able to experience an artist-driven amusement park ride at Elitch Gardens. Meow Wolf's Kaleidoscape will be the first ride of its kind in the world. Elitch Gardens owner and managing partner Revesco Properties is collaborating on Meow Wolf Denver.
Since the announcement of Meow Wolf Denver in January, the arts and entertainment group has had big news for art lovers in two other cities: Meow Wolf will open projects in both Washington, D.C., and Las Vegas. The Las Vegas installation may be complete even before Meow Wolf Denver opens in 2020. In July, the original House of Eternal Return welcomed its one-millionth guest in just two years. And Meow Wolf expects to announce even more locations in 2019.
First week tickets are already on sale for $50, and you can get a ticket to the opening night gala for $1,000. Once open, general admission tickets will start at $25.
Meow Wolf is still working on the narrative for the Denver installation, which is kept under wraps for now, but is expected to be totally unique from the Santa Fe experience. We can't wait to check out this immersive art experience for ourselves.
