Passengers can reserve a spot in the security line 3 days in advance at DIA.

For those planning to travel to or from Denver International Airport (DEN) soon, you can now secure your place in the security checkpoint lines through the DEN Reserve program.

Passengers are now able to make free reservations up to three days in advance, during the hours of 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. This service is offered at the Bridge Security checkpoint and requires you to provide details such as your airline, destination, flight number, and number of people in your group. It's important to note that you don't need to have an account or membership to access this reservation system.

The goal of the new DEN Reserve program is to speed up the security process, says DEN.

"It's a process that exists in 20 other airports throughout the country," said DIA Chief Operating Officer Steve Jaquith. "Another innovative tool we are implementing to try to facilitate and improve our customer experience."

Here's how the airport's new security reservation system works, per DEN's website:

  1. Sign up in advance up to three days before your flight or when you arrive at the airport!
  2. Select the airline you're flying with, your destination, and flight number along with the number of people in your party and contact information to save your spot.
  3. Once you’re at the airport, check your bags, grab some coffee, spend more time with loved ones, or walk straight to security. Be sure to keep an eye on the clock and make your appointment time!
  4. Go to Bridge Security and look for the DEN Reserve logo or use our interactive map for step-by-step directions. DEN Reserve is only available at the Bridge Security TSA checkpoint.
  5. Show airport staff your appointment confirmation and go through TSA screening!

Please note that DEN Reserve is only available for general screening passengers, so those who have TSA PreCheck or CLEAR Plus will not be able to make reservations, as the program "provides a better screening experience for those without a trusted traveler program and create efficiency."
