However, no official extension to the stay-at-home order has been set just yet.

The original stay-at-home order, issued on March 24, was scheduled to end on April 11, but in a conference on Tuesday afternoon, a city and a county spokesperson stated Denver is considering an extension of the order.

Erika Martinez, the city's spokesperson, said they were in communications with the state to extend the order but a timeline was not put in place yet.

Regardless of an official timeline, Mayor Michael Hancock has gone on the record to say the stay-at-home order should be extended and April 30 should be the new target.

Denver led the initiative of the stay-at-home order, becoming the first city in Colorado to do so. It was put in place two days before the statewide order was announced. The two orders ended up using the same language in order to alleviate confusion between the two.

On Monday, Gov. Jared Polis stated he was not, at the time, planning to extend the statewide order. However, on Tuesday afternoon, a spokesperson of the governor's office stated they are looking into the extension but require more data before they can make a firm decision.

As of Monday at 4 p.m., the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) said 16,849 people had been tested for coronavirus. Out of those, 2,966 people have tested positive to COVID-19. There are currently 509 hospitalizations related to the virus and there have been 69 deaths in the state.

What do you think? Will the stay-at-home order be extended? Do you think it could go longer than the reported April 30? Share your thoughts in the comments below. Stay safe, Denver!
