Helping this man who has brought the magic of the holidays to so many is what the season is all about.

For many years, Jim Howe has been the spirit of Christmas for many adults and children in the Colorado Springs community. He's known as Santa to many, listening to children's biggest wishes this time of year and spreading the joy of the season to all he comes in contact with. His neighbors say he always has a smile and helping hand ready for anyone who needs it.

Now, after making a difference for so many, it is this Santa who needs our help

Jim, an Air Force Veteran, had a previous amputation of one leg. Recently, he had a downturn in health that resulted in the amputation of his other leg. Now a double-amputee, his community wants to help him as he moves forward with healing and more by setting up a GoFundMe and Facebook donation site. The GoFundMe was created by Beyond the Battlefield, The Tiegen Foundation, and 501c3 veteran non-profit providing resources and assistance to veterans.

"Our dear friend, Jim Howe, is in ICU in critical condition. He is an Air Force amputee veteran, and they had to remove his other foot last night due to a severe infection."

The goal of the GoFundMe campaign is to raise money for a service dog, a second prosthetic, and money towards his medical bills.

According to the Facebook donation page, Jim has gone through five surgeries so far, and the doctors are working hard to ensure all infection is removed, so he can start the healing process.

"Our favorite Santa of all time needs urgent prayer...this will be a long hard journey for him. He is pretty special to us," says those who are raising the funds for him.

You can help out this very special veteran and Santa by making a donation to the GoFundMe Jim Howe Emergency Fund or Facebook Jim Howe Personal Emergency Fund.
