Support dogs being trained for a good cause.

Englewood's Freedom Service Dog's of America (FSD) has found itself in need. Due to the impact of the coronavirus, dogs aren't going to those they are trained to help, and that also leaves the organization with more mouths to feed.

FSD provides dogs free of charge to children, veterans and active-duty military, and other adults with disabilities. Unfortunately, those who need the dogs will have to wait until the pandemic lets up, which leaves the organization with a lot of dogs to feed. A donor who was providing invaluable dog food to the program, but had to scale back because of issues with production, and now the organization is turning to us for assistance.

"Our longtime source for donated dog food is no longer able to give us thousands of pounds of dog food due to the strain that the coronavirus has placed on their manufacturing capability. That means we need to provide food for the 84 dogs and puppies in our care as they continue their training to become life-changing service dogs for people with disabilities. That’s a lot of kibble!" said FSD's website.

Through the "Fill Our Bowls" campaign, FSD is hoping to raise around $40,000 to cover the costs of feeding dogs through the year. I dare you to just look at the adorable Chili, an FSD service pup, and try to say no to those soulful eyes.

You can help out these wonderful pups by making a donation on the FSD website.

"Your kind donation will ensure that we can continue to provide nutritious dog food to all our dogs and puppies through the end of this year. Thank you for your generosity and compassion during this challenging time. Every bite counts!" says the organization.

Do you know of other animal organizations that could use donations at this time? Let us know in the comments below.
