This adorable pooch has been helping out his neighbor in self-isolation.

Residents of Manitou Springs, Colorado, are stepping up and standing together to support each other through the COVID-19 pandemic.

One awesome example of this is local dog owner Karen Evelth. Her neighbor, Renee Hellman, suffers from several medical conditions—including COPD—and needs oxygen support. She is also at very high risk should she contract the COVI9-19 virus. Hellman has been in self-quarantine to keep herself safe.

Evelth has a Golden Retriever named Sundance ("Sunny"), and she decided to train him to run over to Hellman’s home to help out. After a test run, it was clear the dog was happy to oblige. It has become a regular routine every morning for Sunny to fetch Hellman’s grocery list, then, in the evenings, the dog delivers the bag of groceries. Sunny has been delivering groceries for a couple of weeks now, and has become a savior to Hellman. He also picks up her mail, as well as brings a little bright spot each day for Hellman as she has very little interaction with anyone currently.

KKTV shared the following video of Sunny and his sweet acts of kindness:

Evelth plans to keep having Sunny help out with delivering groceries as long as needed. He likes the errands—and the treats that come along with a job well done! Good boy, Sunny!

Sunny and his owner have been featured in the local and national news and were even mentioned on Good Morning America and CNN, and people everywhere just love the heartwarming story. So do we.

This is just one example of how people (and our furry family members) can come together in a time of need. This story gives us those warm and fuzzy feelings we desperately need today.

Do you know of any other innovative and helpful ways Coloradans are coming together to help each other right now? If so, please share in the comments! We want to celebrate all these hometown heroes, just like Sunny and his owner.
