Nickelodeon Universe is part of the first phase of the new American Dream Mall.
The largest indoor theme park in North America will open on Oct. 25 in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The 8.5-acre park will feature popular characters from the Nickelodeon network like SpongeBob Squarepants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Monster Machines. The premiere of Nickelodeon Universe coincides with the opening of its new home, the American Dream Mall.
Tickets for the preview weekend of Nickelodeon Universe have already sold out.
The climate-controlled park has more than 35 rides and attractions, including one roller coaster with a 100-foot drop! The park will also have live entertainment, food, and more. An NHL-sized hockey rink is also scheduled to open in the mall this weekend.

The American Dream Mall is owned by the same group that owns the Mall of America in Minnesota, also home to a Nickelodeon Universe Park. Regular admission prices for the new park have not been released. After opening weekend, the theme park will be open seven days a week, from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., with extended hours on the weekends.
Later this year, the mall will be adding an indoor water park. DreamWorks Water Park will feature attractions, including a wave pool, body slide, and a hydromagnetic roller coaster. Rides and attractions at the water park will be themed after DreamWorks characters from shows/films like Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, and Penguins of Madagascar.
American Dream will fill out the rest of its three million-square-foot space with retail shops, restaurants, movie theaters, an observation wheel, and an indoor ski and snow park. (Um, YES!) The retail section of the mall is slated to open sometime in the spring of 2020. Unfortunately, this section of the mall will be closed on Sundays to conform to New Jersey's blue laws.
