Willoughby Fish House aims for Memorial Day weekend opening.

Seafood, sailboats, and scenic views. All three things are on the menu in Norfolk with the upcoming arrival of a new restaurant!

Willoughby Fish House will be opening its doors on Willoughby Harbor Marina this summer. The brainchild of Amy Higgins and Chef Sean Kraft of catering service Krafty in the Kitchen, the eatery will be filling the vacancy left behind by Sunset Grill and feature seafood and bar food. The idea for the restaurant came when Higgins was approached by the dockmaster while searching for a parking spot, according to The Virginia Pilot, and is a collective merging of the duo's shared culinary experience.

The waterfront restaurant will feature a mix of seafood and American comfort food served in a maritime atmosphere. Menu highlights include crab cakes, burgers, and a full raw bar as well as mojitos and margaritas. There'll also be indoor and outdoor bar seating, and proximity to the water provides scenic views of the bay. Diners can watch sailboat races out on the water while they eat.

Willoughby Harbor Marina is located near the lower end of Chesapeake Bay. It's a major tourist attraction during the summer months, particularly at Ocean View Beach.

A specific opening date hasn't been given, but they're aiming for Memorial Day weekend at the earliest. Construction of the new space has been underway since July, with a serene ocean-inspired theme running through the decor. They've been documenting their work on newly-minted Facebook and Instagram profiles, which you can go and check out here. Higgens also confirmed they'd be serving food outside on the dock every Thursday, so diners will be able to get a taste of what's to come before the grand opening!
