Man was found asleep in his parked vehicle as his 15-foot-long pet snake made a break for freedom.

A lot of news comes out of Denver, and from time to time, something will happen that seems so odd it makes us wonder how the heck it could even be possible. That was the case this past Sunday when the Denver Fire Department responded to a call about an individual passed out in a car.

When Engine #29 arrived on the scene in the Green Valley Ranch area of Denver, they did find a man passed out in his parked car after a night of heavy drinking. This is a rather commonplace happening. Although it is illegal, and not to mention very risky, many people choose to drive under the influence.

This call, though, had a bit of a surprise for firefighters; the man wasn't alone. For whatever reason, the individual in question had been out with his dog ... and a 15-foot pet snake.

The snake was trying to escape the car as its owner slept off his night of partying and had started to make its way out of a driver's side window to the roof of the vehicle. Definitely not your normal night of firefighting, and far more exciting call than expected.

The fire department is not releasing the identity of the snake's owner, nor are they saying if the man was cited for driving under the influence. We also do not know what happened to the snake, or if the reptile is currently with its owner, the whereabouts of the dog are also not public at this time.

While we are not sure if it is illegal to take your snake out drinking with you for the night, it is not exactly advisable, especially if you end up drinking too much.

Denver Fire Department took to social media to share the story, along with a reminder never to drink and drive, as well as advising to leave the snake at home the next time.

We don't know about you guys, but we've never had a snake, 15-foot or smaller, as a passenger sober, let alone taken one out for a night on the town ...
