The CDC states that fully vaccinated people can visit one another without masks.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has announced new guidelines for those who have been fully vaccinated, including gathering indoors with other fully-vaccinated individuals without masks. The safety recommendations were released at a White House briefing on Monday morning.

The CDC considers people to be fully vaccinated:

• "2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, like the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or
• 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, like Johnson & Johnson's Janssen vaccine"

By CDC standards, someone isn't considered fully vaccinated if "it has been less than 2 weeks since your shot, or if you still need to get your second dose."

 Here's what the new CDC guidelines spell out:

• Those fully vaccinated ...
  • Can visit with other fully vaccinated people indoors without masking or physical distancing.
  • Can visit one unvaccinated household where the people there are at low risk of serious coronavirus illness.
  • Do not need to quarantine after exposure to someone infected with COVID-19 if they do not have any symptoms of the disease.
• If unvaccinated from different households, you should continue to wear masks and physically distance yourself from others who have not yet been vaccinated, and avoid indoor gatherings.
