How high are gas prices in your neighborhood?

As of Monday, gas prices have increased above $4 a gallon across the country—a near national record—while oil prices have surged to a 14-year high.

According to AAA, the national average of a regular gallon of gas is $4.065—an increase of 8 cents from Saturday and 40 cents from last week.

Some experts, like GasBuddy, are expecting the national average could reach $4.10 by Tuesday, with the possibility of the July 2008 record ($4.11) being broken by the end of the week. GasBuddy also predicts the average price will hit $4.25 by May and stay over $4 until November.

"GasBuddy expects that gasoline prices will continue to rise in the days ahead, and could be just days away from setting a new all-time record high and continuing to rise through summer," the company said.

To give you some perspective on how prices have changed: this time last year, gas was averaging $2.76 per gallon, says AAA.
