Company will pay one lucky person to nap on its mattresses.
If sleeping on the job sounds like a dream, that dream is just an application away. Mattress retailer Mattress Firm is launching its second annual search for a "snoozetern." The winning applicant will become the company’s exclusive influencer, testing products and interacting with social media followers. Prospective interns have until May 3, 2019, to submit an application online. The top candidates will be asked to create a video that will be judged by Mattress Firm’s social media followers.

The new snoozetern will work out of Mattress Firm headquarters in Houston, Texas (BEDQuarters) and will have the opportunity to travel around the country creating content. Day-to-day duties include testing beds, creating videos, and building marketing campaigns.
“After the success of our first Snoozetern last fall, we’re excited to start the search for the next in-house napper,” said Scott Thaler, chief marketing officer. “The allure of being paid to sleep on the job and the opportunity to hone social media skills, made this a highly-sought-after position. I’m eager to see the candidates and start paying our next Snoozetern to catch some zzz’s.”
Last year’s inaugural snoozeterns helped frame the company’s social media presence and participated in local community events. The snoozeterns delivered toys to needy children during the holidays and spent time with local celebrities like Olympic gymnast Simone Biles and players on the Houston Texans football team.
Potential snoozeterns should be 18 years or older, be great nappers, and be proficient in a variety of social media, video, and publishing programs. Snoozeterns must live or plan to live in the Houston area.
If you think you have the skills to become a snoozetern, visit Mattress Firm’s interview page and submit your application.
