National Park Week runs from April 16–24.

The National Park Service (NPS) is offering an amazing opportunity to check out your nearest national park by waiving entrance fees on April 16. This is in honor of National Park Week, which runs from April 16–24.

"Parks across the country will host a variety of special programs, events, and digital experiences," writes NPS. "Entrance fees are waived on April 16 to kick off National Park Week and encourage everyone to enjoy their national parks."

Various events will be held throughout National Park Week 2022, and you can follow NPS to stay updated on themed days, in-person or virtual events, and more.

The first day of National Park Week marks one of five days out of the year the NPS waives fees, with the others being Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday (January 17), the anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act (August 4), National Public Lands Day (September 24), and Veterans Day (November 11).

In addition, the National Park Foundation is asking for donations and stories and pictures of your time at the parks, as well give you the chance to stay connected through their newsletter.
