The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office has arrested Brian D. Nguyen, age 43, of Sterling, Virginia, on charges of Aggravated Sexual Battery against a juvenile female gymnast.

The alleged assault took place at an open gym event at the NVGA Gymnastics studio in Ashburn, where Brian D. Nguyen served as a gymnastics coach. Police are not releasing the victim's name, however, they are reporting that the underage girl recently told her parents that Nguyen had inappropriately touched her when she was at the NVGA Gymnastics studio with some of her friends. Nguyen is still being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on no bond. More information will be released as the case moves forward, but given the age of his alleged victim, it is unlikely all of the details of the case will ever be released to the public. Nguyen was charged with a single count of Aggravated Sexual Battery, however, these sorts of cases have a tendency to expand as the investigation and prosecution can end up bringing more victims forward. Since his job frequently put him in a leadership position around children, investigators are asking for the community to come forward if they have any information about this specific incident or others like it. Concerned citizens with relevant information are being urged to contact Detective Smith in the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit at 703-777-0475.
