Check your children's stash of water bottles for the Contigo brand. Certain models are being recalled all over the country for a design flaw that allows the spout to come off unexpectedly.

Contigo is recalling over 5,700,000 water bottles marketed under the brand name "Contigo Kids Cleanable Water Bottle" in a variety of colors and materials. The recalled items are a choking hazard due to a removable spout that can come off in a child's mouth. Products will bear the name "Contigo" along the bottom half of the bottle and have a distinctive black base and cover for the silicone spout.

To date, 149 reports of the spout coming off unexpectedly have been filed with Contigo. According to the official recall announcement, 18 spouts were found in children's mouths.
