The decision is temporary, and the park is expected to reopen as soon as it's advisable.

Hong Kong Disneyland park executives are in close contact with local government officials, who have determined that the park should close due to a rise in cases. The temporary closure went into effect on December 2, and a reopening date has not yet been communicated.

The park hotels and Inspiration Lake Recreation Centre will remain open, with limited activities and service. 

This is the third closing of the park in 2020 due to the pandemic. The park initially closed in January 2020 as a precautionary measure. Officials reopened the park in June and closed it again just a few weeks later due to a spike in COVID-19 cases. Hong Kong Disneyland then reopened again in September 2020.

The news of the closing came on the heels of Hong Kong Disneyland announcing its 15th birthday celebration.
