An earthquake registering at 7.4 magnitude hit southern Mexico on Tuesday morning.

An earthquake hit along the southern coastline of Mexico, in Oaxaca state, on Tuesday morning. Determined to be a magnitude 7.4, the earthquake struck at 10:29 a.m. local time (CST). 

The epicenter was 12 kilometers southwest of Santa María Zapotitlán, right along the coast.

According to tsunami.gov, the region within 1,000 kilometers of the epicenter is now under a "tsunami threat." This would include Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador.
