Changes to the school start times in the Cherry Creek School District have been made after the proposal was passed.

After over a month of parents trying to push against the proposal, the Cherry Creek School District board unanimously decided to change start times for students in the next school year. This change will affect all high schools, middle schools and elementary schools in the district. High schools will start 65 minutes later than they currently do and middle schools will start an hour to 50 minutes later, while elementary schools will be 65 minutes earlier.

They were concerned with the safety of the elementary school students as they journeyed to school at earlier hours of the morning, in addition to other factors that would play a role.
A large majority of parents, students and staff were in support of the change in the district's schedule. What do you think of the new start times? Are they reasonable? Share your thoughts with us!
