Colorado Mills Mall has been closed since May due to the massive hail storm that plagued the state. Now, after six months, the mall is finally opening its doors, just in time for the holiday season.
Six months after the costliest hail storm in Colorado's history, Colorado Mills Mall has reopened its doors. The mall opened on Tuesday, November 21, just in time for the holiday season -- exactly 197 days after the May 8 hail storm. [gallery size="large" ids="27834,27832,27833"] According to a press release, more than 100 stores and eateries will be opening throughout November into December, including Michael Kors Outlet, J. Crew Factory, LEGO, and more. The restoration process has been in progress since the storm first occurred. Earlier this year, some of the mall's already opened their doors, like Jumpstreet, UA Colorado Mills Stadium 16 & IMAX, Super Target, among others. "We are delighted to reopen for the holidays with so many options for our loyal customers," said Gregg Goodman, President of The Mills. "We are grateful for our community's patience, thankful to all the men and women who have labored tirelessly to get us to this point, and look forward to the balance of the tenants reopening in the next several months." Mall officials are hoping to have more stores opened as soon as possible, but it looks like a majority of them won't be open until early 2018.
