Friday evening, a Douglas County sheriff's deputy pulled over on County Line Road to investigate a car that appeared stalled or broken down on the side of the road. As the Deputy approached the vehicle, the driver exited carrying what police describe as a semi-automatic rifle. After verbal commands failed and the armed man refused to back down, the deputy was forced to open fire, striking the suspect. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office posted a tweet late Friday night detailing the incident. https://twitter.com/dcsheriff/status/863231485414854656 The sheriff's office explained to reporters that the deputy feared for his life and was forced to discharge his weapon in self defense.
