A suspect has been hospitalized after moving on a Douglas County sheriff's deputy while carrying a semi-automatic rifle.
Friday evening, a Douglas County sheriff's deputy pulled over on County Line Road to investigate a car that appeared stalled or broken down on the side of the road. As the Deputy approached the vehicle, the driver exited carrying what police describe as a semi-automatic rifle. After verbal commands failed and the armed man refused to back down, the deputy was forced to open fire, striking the suspect.
