Calling all teenage musicians! "Anythink LIVE!" is a local summer music contest created especially for you.

For the third year in a row, the Anythink LIVE! music contest will give Colorado teenagers the opportunity to showcase their talent and compete for a chance to perform their original music live on stage. From now through June 9, budding songwriters and musicians in grades 6-12 are encouraged to submit a demo of their original music. After a panel of judges narrows the competition, the top acts will be submitted to a popular vote on social media sites between July 2 and 7. The chosen winner will then perform on Friday, August 11, as the opening act for Hazel Miller Band at the Anythink Backyard Concert Series, at 5877 E 120th Ave, in Thornton. "All musical styles, including full bands and solo artists, are encouraged to submit their demos via SoundCloud to [email protected] by June 9," a press release from Anythink stated. Winners will be announced at the Gora Gora Orkestar concert on July 14.
For those unfamiliar with Anythink, the organization (which describes itself as a new style of library, as part of Adams County) offers multiple opportunities for people to "explore their passions through informal learning opportunities." Anythink LIVE! participants can also take part in a couple songwriting and recording sessions on Thursday, June 1, from 4-6 p.m. at Anythink York Street, and Monday, June 5, from 5-7 pm at Anythink Wright Farms. For more information on the contest, contact Stacie Ledden at [email protected], or check out their website. Do you think you have what it takes to make the cut? Or do you know somebody who does? Pass the word about the Anythink LIVE! teen music contest. We can't wait to vote on our favorites, July 2-7!
