How's this for holiday spirit? When a Colorado homeowner seriously injured himself while hanging Christmas lights, firefighters came to his aid and then went above and beyond the call of duty.

It all went down on Black Friday (November 24) -- a day famous for packing up Thanksgiving and diving full on into the Christmas spirit. But for Glenn Elvenholl, who fell from his ladder while hanging Christmas lights on his Ken Caryl Valley home, the dive into Christmas spirit resulted in a broken left leg and dislocated ankle. Engine 13 and Medic 13 from West Metro Fire Rescue responded to the call, helping to transport Elvenholl to the hospital. But once he was on his way, the firefighters from the engine crew went above and beyond their duties, staying behind to finish hanging the Christmas lights on the Elvenholls' house. Glenn's wife Sandy snapped pictures of the firefighters' generous good deed and later sent them to West Metro Fire Rescue to express her thanks.
