Gain a new perspective on the marvels of natural engineering at Denver's Museum of Nature and Science's new exhibit, "Nature's Amazing Machines." Open from June 16, 2017 to January 1, 2018.

This temporary exhibit uses objects, scientific models, and interactive shows to show guests how nature's incredible machines: animals. "Nature's Amazing Machines" opens on June 16! Learn how a toucan remains nice and cool in the hot jungle, how it feels to fly high in the clouds, and how a cheetah is able to run so fast. You'll discover the biomechanics of how animals, and even plants, are able to stay in one piece despite what seem to be overwhelming challenges. Their inner workings give these animals the ability to endure extreme temperatures, to defend against the forces of nature, and much more. amazing machines Some of the interactive shows and activities include the opportunity to feel the strength of a harpy eagle, to pump "blood" from the heart of a life-size giraffe model all the way up to its brain, to learn about the mechanics of cheetahs, and even stand in front of a thermal camera to learn how much heat your body loses in comparison to animals covered in fur, blubber, or feathers.
