For the first time, Virginia Beach Police have released photographs showing the face of a bank robber accused of hitting up two area banks.

Virginia Beach Police have released three grainy frames from security camera footage showing their chief suspect in not one, but two area bank robberies. The photos are not a lot to go on. One of them doesn't even have the suspect's face in frame and in the other two, his defining features are hidden beneath a baseball cap and sunglasses. [gallery size="medium" ids="4967,4966,4968"] While these photos aren't a whole lot to go on, they are infinitely better than the last photograph police circulated, which showed the suspect with his face covered with black fabric. With these new frames from security camera footage, we are seeing the bank robber's facial features for the first time, and police are hoping that someone will see these images and recognize the suspect. On October 16, an armed man walked into the Wells Fargo bank at 675 Lynnhaven Parkway and demanded money. Once he got the cash, he was last seen running towards the Walmart on Phoenix Drive.
The same man is also being sought in connection with another armed robbery. On November 6, the same man walked into the Bank of America at 210 Laskin Road armed with a handgun and demanded the teller hand him their money. Police stress that no one was injured in either robbery. However, by nature of the crime, the suspect is considered armed and dangerous. Investigators describe the suspect as a white male, between the ages of 20 and 30, who is between 5' 9" and 6' tall. Anyone who recognizes this suspect or has any information regarding either of these two armed robberies is encouraged to contact Virginia Beach Police by calling Virginia Beach Crime Solvers at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP or texting “VBTIP” and the information to CRIMES (274637). All tips collected will remain anonymous, and a cash reward of up to $1,000 will be given to anyone who provides a tip that leads to the suspect's arrest.
