Check out these great tubing spots to get wet and wild this summer!

With September finally here, the end of hot weather is fast-approaching, making it the perfect time to take a quick trip outdoors with your friends or family. While it’s still nice out, check out some of these great tubing spots in the Virginia area. It’s a great activity for people who want a little adventure, want to do something fun and relaxing, or want to explore what nature has to offer. Whatever your reasons, just keep in mind -- you’re going to get wet!

Shenandoah River Outfitters Luray, Virginia

Whether you're spending just a day-long outing or planning a whole weekend out of it, Shenandoah River Outfitters has everything you could ask for. From cabin rentals to your choice of floatation device, you're bound to have a good time. Mile markers are located along the banks to show how far you’ve traveled. This one claims to have an easy-to-moderate difficulty.

River Riders Harpers Ferry, West Virginia

For just $30 and less than two hours, River Riders provide a fun and bouncy river ride for tubers. Whitewater rafting and calmer tubing trips are also available, depending on what you're in the mood for! A trip with River Riders also provides a chance to learn, as you pass the historic Harpers Ferry, where Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia meet. Considering this location was voted one of the top five tubing trips in America, you shouldn’t miss out on this adventure ride.

Antietam Creek Boonsboro, Maryland

tubing Straight up 95 (and after you make a reservation), you’ll find the beautiful Antietam Creek. Tubes here are just $25 for floating adventures between two and four hours long. Don’t forget your snacks and drinks because there's a tube for that, too! Burnside Bridge, a Civil War landmark, is located along the trail. Canoe and kayak rentals are also available for your group, should you so desire.

Watermelon Park Berryville, Virginia

Since 1939, Watermelon Park has been providing fun in the sun for its guests. Along with the tubing (no reservation required), guests can choose to camp or kayak down the Shenandoah River. Tubes are cheap (just $10.50), and shuttles are available to and from the park. There are also different levels of adventure to delight both the beginners and the more experienced.

James River Runners Scottsville, Virginia

There's nothing more relaxing than taking a tubing trip down the James River. This three-mile trip through the countryside along Charlottesville has a nice set of rapids. The trip lasts between two and four hours, depending on the river conditions. Price is about $25 per person and $8 for a cooler tube. This area is one of the easiest and allows kids as young as six years old to get involved (as long as they can swim, of course!).
