No one has to watch on the sidelines at this inclusionary go karting track. Overdrive Raceway is not only the first of its kind, it’s redefining what it means to be “disabled.”

Overdrive Raceway in Colorado Springs isn't just the first two-story indoor go karting track in the US. The owner, Jim Mundle is adding an inclusionary twist to the fun. As a double amputee, Mundle knows how it feels to sit on the sidelines due to a disability. Sick and tired of hearing “no” himself, Mundle wants to make sure everyone is able to have fun and enjoy life as they are meant to. Mundle was visiting an amusement park, and as a double amputee he was told he wasn’t allowed to ride a majority of the rides. He was upset that because of his prosthetic legs, he couldn’t sit in a roller coaster and enjoy his visit like everyone else.  “It just upset me so much,” said Jim.  That's how Mundle discovered Italian engineered hand-controlled carts specially designed for those with disabilities. Anyone from amputees to those with autism are covered with these Italian-made electric go karts.
“If you’re in a wheelchair and you can’t hide it like I sometimes can, then you can’t do it. We pushed them along in Italy, and we’re the first ones in the U.S. to have these karts.”

Overdrive is meant to be a place for people to let go, have fun, and enjoy themselves. Not only is Overdrive Raceway completely inclusive regardless of ability, it’s a totally unique go karting experience. With DJ nights, racing leagues, and much more, there's a little something for everyone to enjoy.  [gallery size="large" ids="7562,7558,7557,7553,7554,7552"] Again, this is the FIRST two story indoor go karting establishment in the United States. No longer do moms have to worry about their kiddos getting bumped, passed, or even harassed by older drivers. Conversely, older go karters don’t have to worry about younger obstacles as they try and smoke their buddies on the upper track! The downstairs level is designated for kids, where they have 14 kid-karts that can reach up to 25 mph. Upstairs is the “Fast Track” for adults only, with 40 big kid cart’s that can reach up to 55 mph. These too are top of the line Italian pro electric karts. Either floor has two of the innovative and inclusive hand controlled karts. Overdrive Raceway also includes a spacious lounge, private party rooms, and the Overdrive Sports Bar which serves food and yes, booze! They also have racing leagues you can join, summer camps, and availability to host special events! Overdrive is unlike any go karting experience you’ve ever had. If visiting Colorado Springs and you’re looking for some speedy fun, Overdrive Raceway is absolutely worth a visit!
