Danny Masterson, best known for his role as Steven Hyde on That 70's Show, has been sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for forcibly raping two women​.

According to the Associated Press, Masterson, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Charlaine F. Olmedo handed down the sentence.

"Mr. Masterson, I know that you’re sitting here steadfast in your claims of innocence, and, thus, no doubt, feeling victimized by a justice system that has failed you,” Olmedo told Masterson before handing down the sentence. "But, Mr. Masterson, you are not the victim here. Your actions 20 years ago took away another person’s voice, and choice. One way or another, you will have to come to terms with your prior actions, and their consequences."

Masterson was first arrested in June 2020 and charged with raping three women in separate incidents between 2001 and 2003. The actor pleaded not guilty and previously denied all of the allegations against him; at the time, he was released after posting bond on his $3.3 million bail.

The first rape trial began in October 2022, and it was declared a mistrial a month later after the jury was unable to reach a final verdict on the three counts.

However, a second jury found Masterson guilty of two counts of rape, but remained deadlocked on the third count, in a retrial in May 2023.
