KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV)—Good morning, and happy Wednesday! This morning is a First Warn because the wind chill values are in the single digits. Even though temperatures are almost 30 degrees warmer, it is still brutally cold outside, especially if you are going to be outdoors for an extended amount of time. This First Warn will be lifted at 10 this morning as temperatures warm. This afternoon, temperatures will increase to the low to mid-30s, so break out the t-shirt and shorts! Kidding, but it will feel much better compared to the weekend and the last several days. A cold front will move through the area this afternoon, resulting in cloudy skies, a drop in temperatures, and a chance for snowfall in some areas. The snow chance is not impressive, with only about a 20% - 30% chance for flurries. The area with the best chance is north of I-70. This will not be an all-day event but there will be times some showers will pop up and you could receive a quick dusting to half an inch. Of course, with the brutally cold conditions the last few days the ground is primed for anything that falls to stick. The cold front will drop temperatures once again to well below average, with a low tomorrow night in the single digits before we finally start to see multiple days of relief from the bitterly cold conditions. Right now, the chance for precipitation has decreased as a surface high pressure looks to dominate the area over the weekend, keeping the precipitation far south.
