COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) -This weekend will continue with summer-like conditions before a strong cold front moves in with rain late Sunday into Monday, prompting our next First Alert Weather Day. We’re in for another hot and humid afternoon, but there should a more of a breeze this afternoon compared to yesterday and this morning. Highs will approach 90 degrees both Saturday and Sunday. We could even warm close to today’s record high of 91 degrees which has stood for more than a decade. Rain moves in Sunday night and though the day on Monday. Rain will gradually overspread the region Sunday night into Monday. Pockets of heavy rain may lead to some localized flooding. Monday morning will likely be a wet commute for most. Out ahead of the bulk of the rain, just before sunset, an isolated strong to possibly severe storm will be possible for western South Carolina. As the front works eastward Monday, there’s another marginal risk for an isolated strong to possibly severe storm for eastern South Carolina. Our First Alert to Monday’s weather for the Midlands is mainly due to concerns of localized flooding. Heavy downpours and rainfall totaling more than an inch can be expected. Today: After a cloudy start, skies partially clear this afternoon. Highs in the upper 80s. Tonight: Partly cloudy. Breezy at times. Lows in the mid to upper 60s. Sunday: Showers and a storm or two possible late, mainly west. Chance of rain 30%. Highs in the mid and upper 80s. Sunday night: Rain overspreads the region. Rain may be heavy at times. Chance of rain 100%. Lows in the upper 60s. First Alert Weather Day (Monday): Rounds of heavy rain throughout the day. Chance of rain 100%. Rain totals up to around an inch. Highs around 70 degrees. Tuesday: Sunshine returns. Upper 60s with sunny skies. Wednesday: We are much cooler Wednesday morning with lows down to 40, highs reach the mid 60s. . .
