OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - As people begin to travel back home from the holiday, it’s going to be cold weekend for the area as temperatures will only reach the upper 20s with lows in the teens. Wind chills will be in the single digits. Winds will be mostly calm, but some winds may reach 15 mph from the north.

Both Saturday and Sunday come with some light snow potential with the best chances for any accumulation on Saturday morning. If any snow does fall, little accumulation is expected with less than an inch. Heavier snow will stay to the southeast of us mainly in Missouri. Flurries are possible in the Metro on Sunday as a system clips us to the NE... Some light accumulation is possible over W Iowa where the snow may be a bit more consistent.

The new work week will start out cold, but high pressure will start bringing back “warmer” air into our area. We’ll slowly warm up after Monday of next week with a return to the 40s by Wednesday. For the “Stuff the Truck” event, it’s going to be partly cloudy and decent in the lower 40s.
