TROY, Ala. (WTVY) - Another area football program has been hit by sanctions by the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA), resulting in them losing their spot in the state playoffs that start next week.

The AHSAA announced that Charles Henderson has been fined and placed on a one-year probation due to a violation of the association’s Transfer Rule.

As a result of that violation, the Trojans have been stripped of their five 2024 wins, all of which were region victories.

The forfeits for Charles Henderson drop them from 5-3 on the year and 5-1 in 5A-Region 2 play to 0-8 on the season, dropping them from a 2nd place finish in the region to last place.

Andalusia moves up to 2nd and will now host in the first round next week alongside region champions Montgomery Catholic, while Eufaula rises to number three and Greenville clinches the fourth seed with the exit of the Trojans.

Alongside the sanctions issued against Charles Henderson, the ineligible player was assessed eight games of restitution plus a preseason contest for the games he participated in while ineligible.
