COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Another spring-like day is ahead before a cold front drops in, bringing with it a chance of rain this afternoon and evening.

Good morning! Our next cold front is on the way and arrives this afternoon. Before it does, compressed air ahead of the front will help high temperatures reach the upper-70s. As the boundary arrives and passes through, it’ll be breezy at times, with wind gusts of 20 to 30 MPH.

By mid-afternoon and into the early evening, our cold front will fire up a few showers, but chances for rain are limited. A rumble or two of thunder can’t be ruled out, but the best chance at hearing one of those would be in the Northern Midlands. Before Midnight, our cold front moves offshore, taking with it any lingering moisture and cloud cover.

Behind this cold front, temperatures drop for the last day of February, but it’ll still be nice outside! After a chilly morning in the low-40s, skies full of sunshine help high temperatures top out around 70 degrees.

This weekend is a tale of two halves! Saturday, additional sunshine will help highs reach the mid-70s. A secondary cold front drops in Saturday evening, but we’ll remain dry since our atmosphere will be moisture starved. You’ll notice the temperature change Sunday, because highs will only reach the mid and upper-50s.

Today: Clouds increase, followed by a few afternoon and evening showers. Chance of rain 30%. Wind gusts of 20 to 30 MPH. Highs in the upper-70s.

Tonight: Slight chance of rain in the Eastern Midlands around sunset. Then, clearing skies overnight. Lows in the low-40s.

Friday: Sunny skies. Highs around 70 degrees.

Saturday: A few passing clouds. Highs in the mid-70s.

Monday: Partly cloudy skies. Highs in the upper-50s.
