EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) —The Evansville Christmas Lights Facebook page has unveiled its 2024 interactive map, showcasing some of the most dazzling Christmas light displays in the region. For families in the Evansville area, the holiday season just got a bit brighter. 44News spoke with Organizer & Creator of Evansville Christmas Lights, Sean Owen, on what his house looks like around the Holidays. “On a weekend I could see anywhere between 10 to 30 cars come by. I hand out candy canes and everything on the weekends to kids. Then I have a buddy that has a house a couple neighborhoods over, that wanted to start a hot cocoa stand on the weekends and give out free, hot cocoa,” Owen expressed. The map, created through Google MyMaps, features over 200 displays, including official community-sponsored light shows and residential homes where neighbors have gone all out to spread holiday cheer. Most of the displays are located right here in Evansville, but a few are also highlighted in surrounding areas, like Jasper and Santa Claus, Indiana, where the holiday spirit shines especially bright. With some nights going live on Facebook for those who aren’t able to get out to see. “I’ll be going live and kind of doing a live walk-through for everyone to see you to join in and just feel like they’re part of it,” Owen stated. The map is easy to access online, and each marked location includes helpful details like whether the display is synchronized to music, best viewing times, and any special features to look out for. For many families, packing up the car with blankets, hot cocoa, and holiday playlists is a cherished tradition. With this map in hand, planning a memorable evening has never been easier.
