ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Tonight, we are dry with lows falling into the upper 60s and low 70s. The sky will remain mostly clear. High pressure keeps conditions dry for Monday and continues through at least Wednesday across South Georgia. Temperatures for both days will climb toward the upper 80s and low 90s and low temperatures into the low 70s. There will be little chance of rain during this time. The main focus turns to the end of the week. A disorganized area of showers and storms, trying to develop into a tropical system in the northwestern Caribbean, will track into the Gulf of Mexico. This system could become our next named storm (Helene is the next name on the list). This system will possibly bring impacts to South Georgia as early as Thursday. However, how intense the system will be and where exactly it will go has yet to be worked out. The big picture shows that we are in for some tropical moisture no matter what by Thursday into Friday as temperatures drop into the 80s through the next weekend.
