KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Good morning and happy Sunday!

There are a few showers out on the radar this morning just south of I-70. Right now, there are snow showers, and temperatures have dropped enough for the change over from rain to snow. These will continue to move east through the morning. Most areas will remain dry and cloudy to start. By this afternoon we will top out in the low 50s with clearing skies.

If you are heading out to the Royals game temperatures will be in the low 50s to start and end the game with light winds from the NE/N at 5-10 mph. Make sure to bring a coat because it will still be fairly chilly!

We have a new first warn in the 7-day forecast happening overnight tonight and into Monday morning through 9 a.m. This first warn is due to a freeze warning in place overnight as temperatures decrease to the low 30s. Monday night into Tuesday night, there is a freeze watch in place which will likely get upgraded to a warning by tomorrow morning. If you have any sensitive plants, please make sure to bring them indoors or cover them up overnight tonight and tomorrow night.

Heading into next week, temperatures will be increasing to the 70s by Wednesday. The next chance for a few showers and active weather is increasing for Wednesday night into Thursday. Right now, it is about a 30% chance with the best chance being Thursday.

Next weekend, temperatures look to increase significantly with highs 15-20 degrees above where we should be this time of year.
