Former Penn State wide receiver Julian Fleming was seriously injured and a Bloomsburg-area woman was killed in an ATV crash Friday night in Bradford County, according to several reports. State police at Towanda said Alyssa Boyd was a passenger on an ATV that Fleming was driving when it collided with a deer at 8:13 p.m. on Painter Lick Lane in Columbia Township, just north of Troy. Boyd, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene and Fleming, 24, was transported to Guthrie Troy Community Hospital, state police said. Neither Fleming or Boyd was wearing safety equipment, according to the state police. Fleming was a star at Southern Columbia High School and rated the No. 1 prospect in the 2020 recruiting class. He played four seasons at Ohio State before spending last season at Penn State, where he caught 14 passes for 176 yards and a touchdown. He signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent, but he reportedly failed his physical because of hip and back injuries. State police said they’re continuing their investigation into the crash.
