LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The Nebraska men’s basketball team had its 4-game winning streak snapped on Thursday. The Huskers fell to 25th-ranked Maryland, 83-75, at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Juwan Gary scored a team-high 22 points, while Brice Williams added 20.

Williams was playing despite an illness. Head coach Fred Hoiberg said the senior guard, who leads Nebraska in scoring, was a game-time decision. Connor Essegian was also sick, according to Hoiberg.

After trading leads in the first half, Maryland went up for good on a Derik Queen jump shot. The Terrapins freshman center scored a game-high 24 points, along with grabbing 11 rebounds.

The loss drops Nebraska’s record to 16-9 overall (6-8 Big Ten). The Huskers return to action on Sunday at Northwestern.
