A 17-year-old Brookhaven girl is dead and a 19-year-old Media man is in critical condition after a crash in Chadds Ford Township early Easter morning.

In an information release, Pennsylvania State police said Troopers responded to Baltimore Pike and Wilmington West Chester Pike about 3:37 a.m. for a one-vehicle crash into a telephone pole.

Troopers located the involved vehicle, a black BMW sedan, on its roof adjacent to the northbound lanes of Baltimore Pike. Two occupants were located within the vehicle. The female passenger was pronounced deceased on scene. The male driver was transported to Paoli Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call the Pennsylvania State Police Media station at 484-840-1000.

The Delaware County Medical Examiner has not yet released the name of the victim.
