A federal judge Friday ordered the Trump administration to comply with his directive to stop blocking FEMA disaster aid.

Chief Judge John McConnell of the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island sided with 22 Democratic states and the District of Columbia that have challenged the administration’s spending freeze.

McConnell rebuked the agency last month for continuing the freeze despite a temporary restraining order he initiated in January, calling it an example of “acute harm” caused by a federal funding freeze.

The states returned to court in March and said they had not received “substantial disbursement” since early February.
