MONROE, La. (KNOE) - The Louisiana Chosen Sports Foundation began its Back to Grid Iron Games in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

The Back to Grid Iron Games feature a live DJ, live football games, vendors, giveaways and games for community members. The games are six weeks and have two rounds of playoff games before the championship game.

Officials say they are hosting the games this year in honor of a board member who’s child died from cancer.

" Louisiana Chosen Sports Foundation also stands for camaraderie, mentorship, and we’re out here to teach these young individuals life skills, as you know the game is bigger than football. It helps with problem solving, and perseverance,” says Terrance George, Co-Director of Louisiana Chosen Sports Foundation.

The Louisiana Chosen Sport Foundation’s championship game is on November 16 at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
