CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Two Summerville brothers who pleaded guilty to charges in a multimillion-dollar plot to sell fake Viagra are now facing new charges from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.

At the end of October, Ahmed Shedid, 35, and Ibrahhim Shedid, 29, both pleaded guilty to federal charges of conspiracy to sell and traffic counterfeit goods. Each faces up to five years in federal prison, a fine of $250,000, and three years of post-prison supervision because of those charges.

SLED agents assisted in that investigation of a North Charleston business and, because of contraband found during that operation, the pair is now facing a new slate of charges in connection to the possession of illegal THC products.

Some of these items were found in a warehouse and on display for sale and included products like various vape pens, liquids, edibles and waxes which came in several fruit and candy-like flavors, according to a release from SLED.

Additionally, an affidavit states that, beyond the thousands of vapes and gummies found at the scene, agents also located over 5,800 grams or 12.89 pounds of dry-weight marijuana.

The brothers were booked into the Hill-Finklea Detention Center. This case will be prosecuted by the 9th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
