PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Quieter conditions with less wind can be expected today across Arizona, but more weather changes arrive over the weekend ahead. In the Valley, look for mostly sunny skies, light winds and a high of 82 degrees today. That’s about 9 degrees above normal for this time of year in Phoenix. As low pressure departs to the east today, winds will be lighter statewide. This is short-lived; however, as another low pressure system is set to move across Arizona on Saturday. Winds will pick up across Arizona, with a Fire Weather Watch for portions of Eastern Arizona from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. A Fire Weather Watch means dangerous conditions can be expected thanks to very dry fuels, low relative humidity and gusty winds. Winds in this area could gust to 45 mph, with relative humidity dropping to less than 10%. The system will bring a slight chance of light precipitation to portions of Northern Arizona on Saturday, with snow levels expected to be between 7,000 and 7,500 feet Saturday, dropping to 6,500 feet late Saturday night. Not much accumulation is expected. In the Valley, look for southwesterly winds that could gust to 30 mph on Saturday. This could bring more blowing dust. High temperatures will be in the low 80s on Saturday and in the upper 70s on Sunday, which should be less windy. Another storm is set to push across the region on Monday. This system also looks moisture-starved. The Valley has just a 10% chance of rain on Monday, and more wind returns. Temperatures will briefly drop below average to start the new week, with a high of just 70 degrees on Monday. Slow warming is expected through midweek.
