JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KFVS) - New Madrid County Central ran away, literally, with the girls Class 2 Track & Field state championship.

The Lady Eagles scored 48 points over two days, clearing second-place El Dorado by 10 points.

Leading the way for the Eagles was sophomore Amya Bills. Bills won in two events, the long jump and the 200-meter dash.

Bills was joined by fellow freshman Orangie Jackson, who took home the triple jump title in her debut season for the Lady Eagles.

To wrap up a dominant performance, NMCC also took home an event title in the 4x100 relay.

The success wasn’t just limited to New Madrid, however. Chaffee and St. Vincent each saw individuals have success on Missouri’s biggest stage.

Red Devils sophomore Carlyanne Cossou took home two titles, the 100m hurdles as well as the 300m hurdles to cap off a breakout season.

Lady Indians junior Reagan Meyer, only in her second season in the sport, took home the 1600m and 800m state titles, in a repeat of the titles she won last year. Her 800m mark of 2:15.2 put her in the record books, with the time being the fastest in Missouri Class 1 history.

Relay teams also saw success. Caruthersville took home the 4x100m relay, with Woodland taking home the 4x800m relay.
