Scottsdale is stepping up its game in public safety with the introduction of the RAVE Alert System, aiming to keep locals and tourists alike in the know during crises and big events. According to an announcement from the city, the system will make its debut at the WM Phoenix Open next week, a prime example of its utility, where attendees can get in-the-moment alerts by texting a simple code – GOLF25 to 67283 – to stay updated.

The Scottsdale Police Department is encouraging all city dwellers to hop on board. The RAVE Alert System is a no-cost service tailored to keep residents abreast of various incidents, from harsh weather to public safety threats. As mentioned by Scottsdale's official news release , the system enables personalization for different kinds of community notifications, which include everything from climatic updates to safety and utility issues. Users can opt for their choice of notification delivery – texts, emails, or even voice messages.

This system is part of a statewide effort to enhance public safety through the modernization of emergency communication. To sign up for general Scottsdale alerts, visit the Arizona Department of Administration’s 9-1-1 Program page at az911.gov/rave-citizen-info-registration, where you’ll also find detailed step-by-step registration instructions, as per the City of Scottsdale .
