WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - After our second winter storm of the week, we are kicking off Friday morning bitterly cold with wind chills in the teens to single digits. Clouds will continue to clear through the morning, leaving the afternoon sunny but still cold, with highs mainly in the 30s.

Temperatures will start to climb slightly into the weekend. Highs out west will reach the low 40s, while much of central and eastern Kansas will remain in the low to mid 30s thanks to the snowpack. A cold front will move in Sunday, dipping temps back down to the 20s and low 30s on Monday.

Quiet weather will continue into next week, with temperatures starting to warm closer to normal. Afternoon highs will still vary across the state depending on snow melt, but upper 30s and low 40s are possible by the end of next week.

Don’t get used to the milder weather. Next weekend, another shot of much colder air looks to sweep through Kansas.

Today: Clouds clearing and cold. Wind: NW 10-20. High: 31.

Tonight: Mostly clear and frigid. Wind: W/S 5-10. Low: 13.
