BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - Warren Water is holding its 4th annual Art Contest this month for children in kindergarten through 12th grade.

The contest is for all three counties served by the company; Warren, Simpson and Butler. This year’s theme is ‘What Water Means to Me’.

The contest is divided into four grade divisions: kindergarten through third, fourth through sixth, seventh through eighth and ninth through 12th. You also have to be the dependent of a customer of Warren Water.

Winners who place first through third in each division will receive a visa gift card.

“First place will be a $50 Visa gift card, second, a $30 Visa gift card and third, a $20 Visa gift card,” Alyssa Freeman, Executive Assistant to General Manager for Warren Water, said.

Winners will be chosen by mid-October and presented with their prize at their school.

“We contact the principal or a school counselor and they usually want to do an assembly with it for them to be presented with their award, so a lot of the kids usually don’t find out until we’re there and announcing their name and presenting them,” Freeman said. “We do the home school students typically know a lot faster because we contact the parent directly.”

The winners are then displayed in Warren Water’s lobby for a year, as well as on the company’s social media pages.

“Be sure to do an eight and a half by 11. We are no longer accepting canvases or any larger piece of paper, fill the paper as much as you can, try to include the word water or precious resource and just have fun with it,” Freeman said.

Entries can either be hand-delivered to each individual office or mailed/postmarked to Attn: Alyssa Freeman, Warren County Water District, PO Box 10180, Bowling Green, KY.

“Make sure that if you do enter, you have an application taped to the back of your entry, which can be found on either the Warren County website for Warren, Butler for Butler, and Simpson for Simpson,” Freeman said.
