WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — Wichita Falls police have arrested a local mother with a previous conviction of Driving While Intoxicated. Tamika Garrett, 35, was arrested after a crash at the intersection of 9th and Broad Street just after 10 p.m. on Thursday, January 9. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a white Nissan Pathfinder with significant damage to the front end and what appeared to be Jell-O shots in the vehicle and a 32 oz. Milwaukee’s Best in Garrett’s purse. Garrett was upfront with officers, saying she had been drinking before not being able to complete sobriety tests. Two children under the age of 15 were in the vehicle with Garrett, making her charges of Driving While Intoxicated With a Child Passenger – Under 15 Years of Age. She was booked into the Wichita County Jail and is now out on a $10,000 bond.
