Bonjour Waffles is a new and one-of-a-kind food truck vendor that serves authentic Belgian waffles in downtown Silver Spring.

When Irene Kinyoki-Adjeb went to Paris in 2015, she tasted “les Gauffres Belges” and “les crepes Francaise” for the very first time beside the Eiffel Tower, according to the Bonjour Waffles website. Upon tasting authentic Belgian Waffles for the first time, she felt in love and would travel every year to Paris. In 2016, Irene and her husband decided that they would open a food truck that serves authentic Gauffres and Crepes like the one in Paris. By March of 2017, she purchased a food truck, and soon after, Bonjour Waffles was born. Bonjour Waffles opened for business on July, 3 in the heart of downtown Silver Spring. Local residents and commuters can now enjoy Belgian Waffles right in their own backyard. Belgian Waffles Bonjour Waffles serves Brussels Waffles, Liege Waffles and Belgian Crepes. Anyone who has had authentic Belgian Waffles knows that they’re really, really delicious. Belgian Waffles are light and crispy, and Bonjour Waffles has obviously found and perfected the art of making the yummy breakfast food. Liege Waffles, meanwhile, are soft and chewy as well as crunchy on the inside with a sweet taste. Bonjour Waffles sells the classics, but the menu also includes custom creations that are just as good. One such item is the Nutella Lover. The Nutella Lover is a choice of Crepe or Waffles topped with Nutella hazelnut chocolate, powdered sugar, whipped cream and the food truck's own chocolate sauce. Another custom item made is the Caramel Banana -- a Crepe or Waffle covered with cinnamon and banana, cooked in brown sugar and topped with ice cream, homemade Chantilly and caramel sauce. The Berry Cheesecake is just as irresistible; your choice of waffle or crepe is topped with blueberries, cooked and drenched in a sweet syrup, and served with confection sugar and cream cheese.
